Restoration, creed
I love the complete repair of antique furniture.
The love of furniture and wood has been in me since childhood.
About 20 years ago, I found myself in the fortunate position that my wife's godparents gave us three truck antique furniture in a found state! After that, the luck continued, because a nearby restorer took on 10 pieces of it that I liked! We waited, waited until they were ready, and after two years we gave up!
We brought all the furniture, and then came the head scratching,,, what to do with it! Fate has shown the way again! In the person of a couple of transylvanian furniture restorers, who, being a wandering tabler, came to us with great love and started the pieces! Work was going on in the makeshift carpentry shop, from which I could not have been towed! I watched the experienced old hands, saw a lot of hard-working hands, and in the meantime I asked a lot of questions, perhaps a lot of stupid things. After a few weeks, the great interest in me, its little flame, began to fill the space! I knew there was no going back and this would be my new calling. It's infected me.
In the following years, I learned a lot from my brother Árpi and Aunt Irma, because without professional jealousy, selflessly, they initiated me into everything! They were proud that in the absence of a professional heir, they could pass on valuable knowledge to me as their beloved, esteemed butler!
I have sealed my professional training with a carpentry certificate so that I can officially start my business in this direction, burning down my other professional successes in the past!
We have extended the desire for knowledge after furniture and antiques in accordance with my wife , with a series of study trips! The basic condition of professional restoration is knowledge of the wood of the furniture, the exact time of its formation and the territorial definition!
The entire process is based on the use of needlework and authentic materials! I use bone glue, shellacs, waxes, resins combined with contemporary technology!
Old unusable furniture is used as a raw material for possible replacements!
In my work, I hardly leave a carbon footprint. All materials are natural, repaired pieces get a new understanding, to the satisfaction of even more generations! The value created does not require another felled tree and its energetic implications! I will give new value to an existing, already created piece, for the benefit of nature and the owner.
